The "Official" series
commissioned by Howard Books
The "Official" series for Howard Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, contains roughly 100 small, family-friendly, line art illustrations per book, dealing with mischief and friendship, education, spirituality, and family life. I illustrated four books of the series. I owe a special thank-you to editor Philis Boultinghouse.
Note: The first image (Jonah and the Whale) is an unpublished version of an illustration that was correctly stripped of the sacrilegious undertone before final inclusion.
(Cute animals get away with a lot.)
