"Sloth," written by Matthew Blair, chronicles an art handler's downfall into dementia. Above, our hero ponders the growing weight of his face.
The weight is relieved, but an intruder is born.
"He was wet, like a bandit, and smiling. What was the meaning of this?"
"I would know it when I saw it, I figured. The A train. What a beautiful idea! 'A' for Anonymous Ocean. . . . 'A' for Atlantic. . . . I tried to visualize the chain of events: the houses with fishing boats docked in their backyard, the wide stretch of Jamaica Bay, the little islands and birds scattered around like dust—an exceptionally beautiful train ride."
